How do I add road closures?

Have you discovered a road closure while driving that you want to take into account while navigating?

Here's how it works:

  1. Open the 3-dots navigation menu during navigation
  2. Tap on "Bypass roadblock".
  3. Choose length of road closure (500 m - 5 km)
  4. Your route will be automatically adjusted to avoid the road closure

This is how you can remove them:

  1. Open the 3-dot navigation menu again
  2. Tap on "Unblock the road."
  3. calimoto redirects you via the original route

➡️ These detours are not available online for technical reason and will not be added to our map data for technical reasons. They are just for you and this ride. You can only use one detour at a time. Therefore, it is important to remove the detour as soon as it is no longer needed.

Please note:

Via points set along road closures will be deleted until you manually unblock the road.

  • The last two rides I have taken were interrupted by 2 Different Different Rd. closures. If I block them using this described method, does it remember at the next time I take a random route? It’s starting to cause me problems as the roadwork intensifies. I don’t believe that Google maps has this issue.

  • Hey @ Rick Hemmert - First of all, I’d like to apologise for the delayed response; We're finally catchip up on our backlog here in the Help Center and will be doing our best to answer promptly from now on!
Unfortunately, the blocking process you mentioned only applies to the current ride. It’s designed for those quick roadworks that aren't yet included in our maps. For longer closures that are not yet shown on our maps, we recommend adding them to OpenStreetMap, which is where we source our map data. Once these closures are updated in OSM, they will be included in our next map updates.
Thank you for your understanding, and we appreciate your patience as we work to improve our service!
