How Do I Turn Off Voice Notifications?

🔊 Want to ride without voice directions interrupting your flow? No problem! It only takes a few quick taps to mute them during active navigation.

Here's how:

  1. First start the navigation / trip recording: You need to be in active navigation mode.
  2. Tap the map once to display the control icons.
Note: While navigating, the screen controls (like the speaker icon) are automatically faded out. Just tap the map to bring them back.
  3. Tap on the speaker icon on the side of the screen.

Once the speaker icon appears crossed out, voice notifications are muted. You won't hear any more instructions.

Reactivate voice notifications:

Would you like to switch the voice instructions back on?
➡️ Just tap the speaker icon again, and voice directions will be re-enabled right away.

Tip:

💡 Your voice settings are saved! So if you start a new ride and don’t hear any directions, even though you expected them, it’s probably because you muted them last time. Just give the screen a quick tap to bring up the controls, check the speaker icon on the left, and if it’s crossed out, tap it once to turn voice directions back on.

  • Voice commands.. Issue, once muted the command may not be heard but it cuts off your music during the ride when the command is said. Second, once you miss your turn and you drive a mile or so, i wish it would just recalibrate the ride and continue on. Having to drive and attempt to handle the situation is tedious. Better yet, having to pull off on the side of a busy road is worse. ONE MILE RULE, move on with the ride.. Recalculate..

  • Hey @Bass5559 - thanks for taking the time to share your feedback

Those are both valid suggestions. We can definitely see how having your music interrupted by muted voice prompts could be frustrating (I know this from my podcasts suddenly getting quieter with other apps as well), and your idea of automatically recalculating the route after you’ve clearly moved past a missed turn makes a lot of sense from both a convenience and safety perspective.

We’ll gladly add your feedback to our internal collection for the product team to consider as we continue improving the navigation experience.

Thanks again, and keep the rubber side down!
