The Calimeter

Discover the twistiest routes with our unique Calimeter!

Every time you plan a ride, calimoto automatically uses the Calimeter, our one-of-a-kind rating system, to estimate the fun factor of your route. A higher Calimeter score means more curves, and more curves mean more riding excitement. It’s a simple but ingenious way to quantify your ride’s thrill level!

You’ll see the Calimeter when calculating a route. In the web route planner, a horizontal bar made up of red and white segments appears along with a red number. In the app, the Calimeter icon and score are shown in the top right corner of the menu bar.

The Calimeter is designed to measure the enjoyment riders experience by taking into account the number of curves along the way. The conviction behind it is simple: The more curves a motorcyclist navigates, the greater the riding pleasure. Therefore, the Calimeter measures the time spent carving through corners, rather than just looking at the distance traveled.

This feature is only available for routes that are longer than 20 km (12 mi). Users typically receive Calimeter scores between 0 and 200, with higher values indicating particularly winding routes. You’ll see the Calimeter score once the route is calculated or saved.
